Building blocks for jumping

Learning to push feet down into the ground to rise

Simple jumping

Learning to push downwards to leave the ground momentarily.

Advanced jumping

Increasing distance, height, speed or changing direction


  • Jump from a low surface eg a step

  • Simple small jump upwards from a standstill with both feet together

  • Jumping forward a short distance ( 7- 10 cm)

  • Bends knees to squat down with complete steadiness and rise back up without using hands.
