Puddle play

Description

Puddle play

  • Ask children to draw around the outside of a puddle with a chalk. Keep coming back to the puddle to draw around it as it dries up. Discuss what happens to the water as the sun comes out.
  • Encourage children to find objects to use as stepping stones so they can travel through the puddle without their feet touching the water. You may need to assist them with balancing.
  • Try to splash all the water out of a puddle or sweep it out with a brush. You could time the children and discuss how the time it takes varies according to the size and depth of the puddle.
